COMSOFT Joins Open Geospatial Consortium

The Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc.® (OGC) is a non-profit, international, voluntary consensus standards organization that is leading the development of standards for geospatial and location based services.

Based on the fact that most of today’s aeronautical data is geo-referenced an increasing number of techniques from the geospatial domain are adopted for Aeronautical Information Management (AIM). Moreover, the future aeronautical infrastructure concept System Wide Information Management (SWIM) as envisaged by FAA and EUROCONTROL will be based on OGC standards like Web Feature Services (WFS).

Through becoming an associate member COMSOFT recognizes the importance of the OGC standardization work and supports its further development.
