AIXM 5.1 Released

The AIXM 5 Design Team at EUROCONTROL and FAA has just released AIXM 5.1 Release Candidate 1 including the UML diagram, the data directory, and the XSD.

According to the AIXM Design Team the "AIXM 5.1 Release Candidate 1 contains many enhancements including several changes requested by members of the AIXM forum. Some of the key features of Release Candidate 1 are:

• Schedules and Temporality - concept review
• Harmonisation of Usage classes
• Notes and descriptions - concept review"

The release of AIXM 5.1 is a huge step forward because it fixes a numer of shortcomings that have been encountered during the various trials in the past. It is considered to be the first release that is ready for operation.

COMSOFT will now update the AIXM 5-based products CADAS-AIM_DB and CADAS-IMS to this new release. This will be an easy and quick task because the systems have been designed to be upgradable to future AIXM versions with little risk and effort.
